F.A.Q.'s

This page is still under construction.

Q:  How does hydroseeding work?

A:  Grass seed, fertilizer, lime and hydromulch are mixed into a thick slurry which is evenly sprayed onto your prepared soil. The grass seed and fertilizer are protected by an attractive green layer of hydromulch. This helps to hold moisture and prevents the wind or rain from eroding the soil and disturbing the seeds.

Q:  My lot is all sand. Do I need to bring in topsoil?

A:  No. Some so called "Topsoil" materials seem to actually inhibit growth, especially dredge materials.
We have found that our applications do better on the native soils.
If you need to fill an area use clean sand.

Q:  How often should the hydroseeded area be watered?

A:  Keeping the yard moist will maximize seed germination.
To assure proper germination, water regularly.
At the least two times a day in warm weather is recommended.
In our climate, I prefer to water 3 times a day. Morning, noon and night.
The more ground that the grass covers, the less you will have to water.
By keeping your new seedlings from drying out, you insure the beginning of a lawn
that will make your neighbors green with envy.

Q:  How long does it take for the grass to grow?

A:  Germination time depends on weather conditions, temperature and the amount of watering.
Grass may be visible as soon as 10 to 14 days, but will be slower in cold weather.
It can take up to 2 years for a hydroseeded lawn to completely fill in.
The success of growing grass is almost always related to watering and proper care.

Q:  What type of seed do you use?

A:  We use the same seed that can be purchased from a retail store or a landscape supply distributor.
We custom blend seeds to meet your needs unless you specify a certain type of seed for your application.

Q:  Do you give a guarantee?

A:  Sodded lawns, seeded lawns and lovegrass are not guaranteed.
The success of any lawn depends mostly on the care and maintenance after installation.
We guarantee to use the best sod and grass seed available.
Most failed lawns are usually a result from not enough water.
New irrigation systems carry a Limited 2 year warranty.

Q:  We just had our septic system repaired and now there is a large bare spot
with a lot of exposed gravel. Can you fix that?

A:  Yes. Hydroseeding is an excellent choice for this type of a repair.
Our application will cover the gravel and as the grass fills in, the repair area will gradually disappear.
Remember that the grass always grows greener over the septic tank.
